Tembeling Natural Pool in Nusa Penida

About Tembeling Natural Pool

Tembeling Natural Pool is a hidden freshwater spring inside the lush Tembeling Forest on the west coast of Nusa Penida. Surrounded by jungle, cliffs, and a quieter natural setting, the pools offer a very different atmosphere from the island's more exposed cliff viewpoints and beach photo stops.

Visitors first arrive at a small cliffside temple called Pura Mujaning Tembeling. From there, a staircase of more than 200 steps leads down through the forest to the natural pools below. The journey itself is part of the experience, passing through dense tropical vegetation and more rugged terrain than most standard tour stops.

The area features two natural pools and a secluded beach nearby known as Tembeling Beach. While the ocean waves can be strong, the spring pools are generally calm and ideal for cooling off after the hike, especially for guests who want a more adventurous but still scenic half-day outing.

Tembeling remains one of the island’s most peaceful natural attractions and is suited to travelers looking to explore the quieter, more adventurous side of Nusa Penida.

Tembeling Natural Pool is not part of the standard West, East, or Combination Tour. If you want to include it, we can arrange a customized private tour around your stay and help you plan a route that fits this more off-the-main-route stop.
