Suwehan Beach in Nusa Penida

About Suwehan Beach

Suwehan Beach is a hidden beach on the east coast of Nusa Penida, framed by high limestone cliffs and a broad sweep of white sand. The setting feels more remote and less commercial than the island's better-known viewpoints, which is a big part of its appeal for guests looking for quieter scenery.

The beach is famous for a tall triangular limestone rock formation known as Batu Chinta (Love Rock) that rises from the sea just offshore, creating one of the most photogenic landscapes on the island and giving the bay a very distinct identity.

Visitors reach the beach by descending a staircase carved into the cliffside. The walk down usually takes around 15 to 20 minutes and offers wide coastal views along the way, so the experience begins before you even reach the sand.

Suwehan Beach is located near Atuh Beach and Diamond Beach, but it is usually chosen by travelers who want something quieter and less standard than the most heavily photographed east-coast route.

Suwehan Beach is not part of the standard West, East, or Combination Tour. If you want to include it, we can help arrange a customized private tour built around your preferred east-side stops.

Plan Your Visit

Visit one of the most beautiful hidden beaches on the east coast of Nusa Penida. Stay at Mahaloka Valley and, if Suwehan is a priority for you, ask us to arrange a customized private tour that can combine it with Atuh, Diamond Beach, or other east-side stops at a more flexible pace.
